The Stories
Coffee, early mornings, coffee, fog (physical and mental), moving the cat off my chair, notes on the run, forgotten lines of brilliance (weren't they?), voices, trees, mistakes and mistakes and mistakes. I could draft a book on what it takes to produce a novel—but other people have already done that (just once or twice).

Instead, I'll admit to this: For all the head-banging frustration, swearing and times of swirling confusion, writing these stories has been the most enjoyable challenge (outside of parenthood) of my life.
